Smartlipo (TM)

Smartlipo™ is a revolutionary new method for removal of unwanted fat through a process where by a laser "melts the fat" allowing it to be removed by a gentle removal process. This procedure has many advantages over traditional liposuction methods. It is highly effective, allowing the surgeon to typically remove more fat from a given area with less risk than traditional liposuction. It also allows the patient to pursue a more sculpted appearance in many cases as well. It allows for the procedure to be accomplished using local anesthesia obviating the need for going to the operating room. Recovery is very rapid, with many patients being able to return to their regular routines including workouts within 1-2 weeks. In many cases there is less swelling and bruising as well.

Where Smartlipo™ is different than traditional liposuction is that it uses a carefully calibrated laser to liquefy or melt the fat. At the same time it is doing this it is working to tighten or shrink the skin around the new sculpted form that the surgeon has accomplished. In my experience many of our patients see less swelling than they often see with traditional liposuction methods. The result is a more rapid recovery and return to your regular routine.
